In real estate, they say it’s all about location: “location, location, location.” For the church, we say, “communication, communication, communication.” We are in the business of communicating the good news of Jesus Christ. Effective communication is essential for us to thrive as a congregation. When we are crystal clear about who Jesus is and what he wants us to do, then everyone wins!
To help us aspire to be better communicators, both as individuals and as a congregation, we are launching a new series in September called “How We Communicate.” To supplement the framework and key themes, I am using John Maxwell’s book entitled, The 16 Undeniable Laws of Communication. The following table provides the series information along with key scriptures in case you’d like to get a head start.

During the month of October, the sermons and Wednesday night programming for adults will focus on “Mental Health Awareness.” I am currently working on the message series and will provide details in the weeks to come. This will include the practitioners who will lead on Wednesday nights and the topics they will discuss. We hope that both the sermons and the Wednesday night sessions will be a great help to our community of faith.
Finally, I am excited about a continuing education opportunity for this year. It’s called the Art of Leadership Academy led by Carey Nieuwhof. Included with this program is an intensive course entitled, “The Art of Preaching.” I took a preliminary one-hour workshop on 8/21 and am eager to dive into the rest! Please pray that the courses, live coaching calls and online community will be a great benefit to my development as your pastor! Thank you for providing the resources to help us grow!
