This past week, I had the joy of celebrating my tenth anniversary as senior pastor here at Huguenot Road Baptist Church. It is hard to believe that my call to this church family began on March 1, 2015—back when our daughter, Isabella, was in fifth grade. Now, she is a junior at James Madison University. Where does the time go?
Melanie and I are deeply grateful for the recognition, the generous gift, and the many prayers, cards, notes, and words of encouragement we received. Your kindness means more than we can express. Over the past decade, we have faced challenges together, including saying goodbye to many faithful brothers and sisters who are now with Jesus. We also walked through the difficulties of a global pandemic, yet through it all, God has been faithful.
Looking ahead, we believe God has given us a compelling vision for the future—to be the presence of Christ in our community and to serve as His hands and feet through our five God-sized dreams: Worship, Discipleship, Fellowship, Outreach, and Missions. One of the most exciting ways we have seen God at work is through our RiseUp campaign. Through your generosity, we have given over $320,000 in just nine months, surpassing our initial goal of $250,000 by June 2025. What an incredible testimony to God’s provision and your faithfulness!
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. You are a loving, graceful, generous, and faithful church family. Melanie, Isabella, and I feel truly blessed to be part of this journey with you. We appreciate you, and we love you!

For over 40 years I was a member of HRBC. I remember victories and challenges galore. Through it all God was present and active.
As member of the pastor search committee I researched scores of resumes, concluding with three that I believed were a match for HRBC, one of which was our present pastor. My years of knowing numerous pastors paid off. I am grateful for Bob Lee filling the bill since 2015. Happy 10th anniversary!
