One of the more recent joys of my spiritual life has been reading through the entire Bible each year. In 2024, more than 40 people from our church completed this journey, and many are continuing the practice in 2025. I used The One Year Bible in 2024, and this year I have been reading with The Chronological Bible, which arranges the Scriptures in the order the events actually happened. Honestly, I can’t imagine stopping!
Reading the Bible through takes about 15–20 minutes each day. I’ve adjusted my morning routine to include it, and it has become a life-changing habit. I feel closer to the Lord, and I continue to discover new insights with every reading. If you’ve been thinking about making daily Bible reading a priority, now is the perfect time. November is Global Bible Month, and there are some excellent tools to help you get started:

For those planning to read through the Bible in 2026, here are a few tips and words of encouragement:

- Be patient – This is a marathon, not a sprint. Some read in the morning, others at different times during the day. Find what works for you.
- Be open – God speaks through His Word. Keep a pen and paper nearby to jot down insights and reflections as the Spirit leads.
- Be flexible – If you get behind, don’t worry. Just pick up where you left off.
- Be graceful with yourself – Daily reading should be a joy, not a burden. Missing a day is okay.
- Be encouraged – The enemy will often try to distract or discourage you. Put on the armor of God, pray, and keep moving forward.
- Ask for help – I am here to support you. I will email periodically to check in and offer encouragement.
Whether you are reading the Bible for the first time or have done it before, 2026 can be a year of deeper connection with God’s Word. Commit to taking just a few minutes each day to immerse yourself in Scripture. You will be amazed at the insights, encouragement, and closeness to the Lord that comes from making Bible reading a daily habit.
Let’s journey together into God’s Word next year and let it transform our hearts and lives!
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17, NIV)
