“The Renewal Project: Transformed Minds for God’s Will”
As we step into a new year, we often find ourselves reflecting on the past and setting intentions for what lies ahead. What better way to begin 2025 than with a focus on renewal—not just of our habits or routines but of our very minds? This January and February, I invite you to join us for a transformative sermon series titled “The Renewal Project: Transformed Minds for God’s Will.”
Inspired by Romans 12:2, which calls us to “be transformed by the renewing of our minds,” this series is designed to guide us in embracing the mind of Christ. Together, we’ll explore how to break free from the patterns of this world, cultivate godly perspectives, and align our thoughts and actions with God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will.
This series isn’t just about individual growth; it’s about our collective journey as members of HRBC. By renewing our minds, we open ourselves to God’s vision for our lives and our congregation. Each week, we’ll build on this theme with a focus on different aspects of renewal:
- Jan. 5: “The Call to Transformation” (Romans 12:1-2) — We’ll begin by examining Paul’s call to present our lives as living sacrifices and allow God to transform us from the inside out.
- Jan. 12: “Renewing Our Perspective” (Philippians 4:8-9) — Discover how focusing on what is true, noble, and praiseworthy can shape a godly mindset.
- Jan. 19: “Seeing God at Work” (Psalm 78:1-8a) — Through stories of God’s faithfulness, we’ll reflect on how renewing our perspective helps us recognize His work in our lives.
- Jan. 26: “Cultivating a Mindset of Humility” (Philippians 2:5-11) — Following the example of Christ, we’ll explore how humility transforms our relationships and attitudes.
- Feb. 2: “God’s Word: A Lamp for Our Minds” (Psalm 119:105; Hebrews 4:12) — God’s Word is central to renewal, providing light, truth, and direction for our lives.
- Feb. 9: “Renewing Our Relationships” (Ephesians 4:22-32) — Learn how a transformed mind leads to reconciliation, forgiveness, and healthier relationships.
- Feb. 16: “A Mindshift for a Renewed Church” (Acts 2:42-47) — Explore how renewal in the early church can inspire us to live in unity, generosity, and devotion today.
- Feb. 23: “Discerning God’s Will” (Proverbs 3:5-6; Romans 12:2) –Kyara Kelley-Jones will conclude the series by guiding us to trust God as we discern His plans for our lives. This is also the day we emphasize the “Baptist Women in Ministry Week of Preaching.”
This series is an invitation to begin 2025 with a vision for transformation—individually and as a church. Together, let’s embark on this journey of renewal here at HRBC, seeking to align our minds with God’s will and open our hearts to His leading.
Let’s make worship a priority as we start this new year. Mark your calendars, invite friends and family, and join us each Sunday for “The Renewal Project.” Together, we’ll discover how God’s transformative power can renew not only our minds but also our lives and our church!
Blessings as we enter 2025,
