The HRBC College Ministry exists to help students transition their faith from childhood into adulthood. This means that students are encouraged to own and live out their faith in the real world. Whether that is at their school or in the workforce, students are taught real world examples of what it means to live a life following Jesus.
As a result we encourage college students to be integral parts in all areas of the church including worship services, mission experiences, church leadership, and more. We believe that College Age students bring an amazing and exciting energy to the church and we encourage them to be an active part of the life of the church!
What’s On for New, Current, and Just Graduated College Students This Summer?
As our students filter in from their college campuses or finish up their senior year in High School, we have a full summer of activities and Bible Study awaiting them. Our Ministry is called College Connection. Our first point of Connection is on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am in the Parlor of the Sanctuary Narthex. There we will read and discuss the scripture of the day – which is also the scripture that will be used for the sermon that day. We will check in with one another and pray for each other with whatever is happening in our lives. Then on Tuesday evenings we will have our Bible study in various fun and creative locations around Richmond with a number of guests/hosts who will be leading us. We will be studying the book of Luke this summer. The time and location will vary some (it will likely not begin before 7:00 pm depending on the venue) but we will have it in the bulletin calendar and communicate it out each week. And then there will be some fun fellowship adventures sprinkled throughout the summer as well. And finally, we will be making our plans for Passion 2020 which will be held Atlanta, GA beginning on New Year’s Eve. So come join us, and bring a friend!
