Thursday in Charlotte

Thursday in Charlotte

Not quite as hot as yesterday, but hot enough.

Dinner last night was so good and I know that everyone enjoyed it immensely - there was nothing left!  These dinners are done every Wednesday and Friday, and the neighbors look forward to them.

Gregg and I went walking before dinner and met some new people.  Gregg took on one of the boys in a little basketball - lost a "wager" of dinner on him, and walked back later to deliver some chicken pot pie to this boy and 4 of his friends.  Julie went along on the walk and said they met even more people then, and Gregg shot some hoops again, with a little better result the second time.  Gregg has a wonderful way with the boys around here.

Let me see, one of our projects today was to defrost the freezer.  Gertrude and Martha took charge and got that done in no time.  One of our other projects for today was to build shelves for the laundry room closet, but we ran into (literally) some trouble with that little project.  So, it may have to be completed in June.  More on that later!

Gertrude and Rhaji were passing out newsletters around the neighborhood while Helms and I were doing some gardening in the front of the house.

We are taking everyone out for dinner tonight - Helms, Gregg and two boys that currently are living with them.  When we get back to our rooms tonight, I'm sure we will be as worn out as last night.  No trouble sleeping!

We will check in with all of you tomorrow.
