Sunday School Reflections

Sunday School Reflections

Recently, in the Sunday School hour, a “Family Sunday School” was held in the gym.  As I moved from table to table watching parents and other family adults work with the children in Bible related activities, I was moved to think how this should be a normal happening regularly at home.  There is something warm and natural about families studying and learning the Bible together.  These children, kindergarten through 5th grade, were experiencing something that has eternal consequences, as well as a wonderful model for family growth and development.  I am glad for Amanda Lott and the children’s Sunday school leaders who planned this event.   The new Sunday School year has started out on a positive note.  There were 376 in attendance on January 2; 225 adults and 151 children and their workers.  There were 366 attending on January 9.  I hope many have resolved to make Bible study fellowship on Sunday mornings a high priority for 2011.  Remember, Sunday School is more than just “counting nickels and noses.”  Some, like I, can say that were it not for those experiences with loving teachers and mentors, where would we be today? I hope to see you Sunday at 10:00 a.m., with a smile and Bible in hand.     ~ Rod Hale
