In 2013, HRBC stepped out in faith and trusted God to launch an exciting $3.12 million expansion and renovation to our campus through the “It’s Time” campaign. Today we praise and thank our good God for what he has done in and through us! Because of your generosity, our formerly separated buildings are all connected, we have a wonderful new commons area for fellowship, a covered entrance, an elevator, upgrades to the audio-visual technology in the sanctuary, a new alarm system for the entire campus, a new computer network, new office furniture, new classrooms and staff office space and much more! The total spent includes all architectural and construction related expenses as well.
As of June 2013, the loan balance was to be $1.85 million. As a result of your faithfulness, this amount was reduced to $1.63 million at the end of 2014. And as of April 2015, the principal balance of the loan is $1.53 million, over $300,000 less than originally anticipated! Thank you for your generosity!
Our loan will become a permanent fixed loan on July 25 and regular principal and interest payments will be made as planned from our existing budget. But there is a way that we can help reduce our debt! Any funds given between now and June 22 and designated “It’s Time” will go directly to the loan principal. If we are able to reduce the principal to $1.4 million, we will see a savings of nearly $10,000 per year. This savings has a direct impact on money to do ministry! To do this, we will need to raise just over $133,000. If successful, we would have saved over $31,000 per year from the original loan back in 2013. We will also see a tremendous savings over the life of the loan.
You might ask, “How can I help?” Simply designate your gift to “It’s Time” between now and June 22 and it will help reduce the amount of our permanent loan balance. The new monthly payment will be calculated by our lender after this deadline and reflected in our church operating budget. Please prayerfully consider how your family might participate. The scripture reminds us that God enables us to do what is humanly impossible. Joseph said, “Not I, but God . . .” (Genesis 41:16, MSG). And in Luke 1:37, the angel said, “For nothing is impossible with God.”
Thank you for praying about how you and your family might participate. If you have any questions or would like more information, please call the church office.
God’s richest blessings,
Pastor Bob Lee & the Stewardship Team
