Week of Prayer for Associational Missions and Camp Alkulana Offering

Camp Alkulana, a summer camp in the Viriginia Allegheny mountains, is a camp that Richmond Baptists have provided to boys and girls of Richmond so that they can have an affordable summer camp experience .

In its early years, the attendees were children whose parents worked in the city’s factories.  Today, the camp offers affordable summer camp to children who are eligible for free and reduced lunch at school.  The camp is celebrating its 100 anniversary this year.  It has been in continuous operation since 1915, making it the oldest camp in Virginia.

During the week of May 18-24, our church will observe the week of prayer for associational missions.  (Our church is a part of the River City Faith Network of the Richmond Baptist Association.) Camp Alkulana is a ministry of this association.  During May, HRBC and other churches in the association will collect an offering to support the ministry of Camp Alkulana.  The goal is $148,335.  Please give generously!
