WMU Focus Week - February 9 - 15

WMU emphasis is "All For You" - surrender, sacrifice, serve.

Of most importance is to remember to pray for our missionaries at home and abroad. Continue to give to mission efforts and serve where needed. Thank you, HRBC, for what you have done most recently:

  • meals for homeless- Oregon Hill Baptist Center
  • many bags of groceries and Panera bread-South Richmond and Oregon Hill Baptist Center
  • $140 to WMUV for repairs at Camp CrossRoads
  • Clothes and lunches for summer program—African Community Christian Church
  • 38 bikes, new toys and clothes—Baptist Center’s Christmas store
  • backpacks and school supplies—Baptist Centers.

All of this and more have been done with only a $1,000 budget.  Many of you have given extras to help carry out all of our assignments.  Thank you!

There are three WMU Baptist Women's Groups at HRBC and they meet as follows:

  • Second Tuesday, 10-am - Patti Spragg leader
  • First Tuesday, 7 PM - Dotty Shepherd leader
  • Second Tuesday, 7 PM - Becky Pulliam leader

You are invited to participate in WMU and join any of our groups.  At these meetings, we have had the joy of hearing from these WMU folks share their mission experiences :

  • Miss Carrie Johns - Sojourner Centers and Camp Alkulana
  • Dr. Valerie Carter - WMUV Executive Director/Treasurer
  • Mrs. Pat Wright - WMUV President
  • Rev. Wesley Garrett - Missionary, South Richmond Center
  • Rev. Paul and Mrs. Faye Burkwall, IMB Retired
  • Mrs. Jamie Sasser - Slovakia Mission Team

WMU is "on mission" in our community, city, state and around the world.  Come join us!
