Huguenot Road Calls New Senior Pastor

On January 25, 2015 Huguenot Road Baptist Church voted to call Dr. Bob Lee as our new Senior Pastor.

Dr. Lee is married to Melanie and has a daughter Isabella who is in the fifth grade. He was born in El Paso, Texas in 1967. During his childhood he lived in Philadelphia, Atlanta and South Carolina where he graduated from high school.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree in political science from Winthrop College in 1989 and worked for South Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance Company until he felt God’s call to ministry.  In 1995 he and his wife moved to Richmond where he enrolled in the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond.  After graduation he was called to serve New Highlands Baptist Church in     Mechanicsville, Va. The church was meeting in an elementary school, later purchased 10 acres of land and began construction of the first building in 2000.  They have added two additions in subsequent years. In May, 2011 Bob earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from Union Presbyterian Seminary, Richmond, Va.  He is a well respected and recognized leader in several Baptist organizations in Virginia and was recently elected President of the Virginia Baptist Pastors Conference.

Sunday, January 25 was a wonderful day of praise and worship as we focused on God’s gift of Grace.  This was expressed in the music, the children’s message and by the inspiring message “Grace Beyond Measure” by Dr. Lee.  Our total attendance for both worship services totaled 566.  Let’s pray as we go forward that we can maintain this level of commitment.

Please continue to pray for Dr. Lee and his family, and for his church as he goes through the difficult days of telling them good-bye.

Dr. Lee will begin his ministry with HRBC on March 2, 2015
