Lent Devotion - Wednesday

Wednesday, March 2

Prepare: Find a quiet place where you can be alone. Try to find a place where there are limited interruptions so that you can openly go before God. If you need to, grab a pen and a notebook to write down thoughts that come to your mind throughout the experience.

Use this sentence scripture prayer to center you: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)

Read:  Today’s passage is 1 Corinthians 10:1-13.  Read it through regularly first. Read it again slowly going word by word. Write down anything that stands out to you or is interesting.

Meditate: What strikes you about this passage? What is different than the other passages? Are there things in your life that might not follow Christ’s example? Do these things match the list of things that you made yesterday? How does the promise made in vs 13 impact you? Write your thoughts down!

Pray: Take a few minutes to just sit in God’s presence and dwell on his goodness.

Take a minute and ask God to continue to reveal the things that might be keeping you from a closer relationship with Him. Offer these things up to him. Pray that God will continue to be faithful to his promise in Vs 13.
