Prepare: Find a quiet place where you can be alone. Try to find a place where there are limited interruptions so that you can openly go before God. If you need to, grab a pen and a notebook to write down thoughts that come to your mind throughout the experience.
Use this sentence scripture prayer to center you: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)
Read: Today’s passage is Revelation 3:1-3. Read it through regularly first. Read it again slowly going word by word. Write down anything that stands out to you or is interesting.
Meditate: What struck you as interesting in this passage? What is tough to read in it? What do you think that God might be telling you through this passage? Think back to what you wrote during the past couple of devotions. What do you think God would have you do with that?
Pray: Take a few minutes to sit quietly and dwell on how you think that God might want you to respond to today’s scripture. What might you offer up to God? Pray that God might grant you humility and patience as you continue to work through the content of His word.
