Lent Devotion - Saturday

Saturday, March 5

Prepare: Find a quiet place where you can be alone. Try to find a place where there are limited interruptions so that you can openly go before God. If you need to, grab a pen and a notebook to write down thoughts that come to your mind throughout the experience.

Use this sentence scripture prayer to center you: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)

Read: Go back and re-read the verses for this week. (Isaiah 55:1-9. Psalm 63:1-8, 1 Corinthians 10:1-13, Rev 3:1-3, Luke 13:1-9) Look for the common themes that we worked through this week.

Meditate: Meditate on each of the things that you wrote down this week. What had God been trying to tell you? What is your current desire level for you relationship with God? What is getting in the way of your relationship with God?

Pray: Take a few minutes to again repent of these things and ask God to guide you in your relationship with Him. Remember that repentance is not easy but it is necessary. It sets our hearts in the right place leading into next week’s devotions. Pray that God will continue to speak to you over the next few weeks leading up to Easter.
