Lent Devotion - Monday

Monday, February 29

Prepare: Find a quiet place where you can be alone. Try to find a place where there are limited interruptions so that you can openly go before God. If you need to, grab a pen and a notebook to write down thoughts that come to your mind throughout the experience.

Use this sentence scripture prayer to center you: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)

Read:  Today’s passage is Isaiah 55:1-9.  Read it through regularly first. Read it again slowly going word by word. Write down anything that stands out to you or is interesting.

Meditate: What thoughts did you have while you were reading? What stuck out to you? What are the promises of God listed in this passage? What might God be trying to tell you through this passage?  What actions might God desire for you after you read it? Write down any thoughts you have.

Pray: Take a moment to thank God for His word and it’s guidance. Pray through the thoughts that you have had during this devotion time. Pray that God will help you to learn from the reading and meditation of his Word.
