LAB 1 “Be” (Sat Morning)

Ok pictures will have to wait because my connection isn’t great. In the mornings the students spend 2 1/2 hours in a thing called Lab. I’m gonna let Meagan talk more about it.

So I was asked to blog about what the LAB was all about…well let’s see. I volunteered myself to the high position of circle leader which basically meant that they gave us five minute training and then let us lead a group of 7 people in discussion. Sounds SO easy right? Especially for me, since I’m a very outgoing person, or so I’ve been told at least. Truth be told I have never been more nervous in my life! I’ve never seen so many people give me such strange looks. My group included a wide variety of people, all from very diverse backgrounds I found out. Well, there was this one boy in particular, Bobby. I could tell from the start that he wasn’t too keen on being at DCLA in the first place, much less in a group with the crazy lady…that’s my by the way. When I went to give him a high five an introduce myself, he glared at me like I was nuts and sat down. I tried my best to get him talking and active, and by God’s blessing, since I’m sure that’s the only way it could’ve happened, he opened up a lot and had a ton of good things to say. Overall, today I feel I established a good relationship with my group, and I’m very much looking forward to the rest of this amazing weekend! Oh….AND I MET THE SKIT GUYS AND THEY LOVE ME!   To God be the glory all the way!

Thanks Meagan!

Now we’re off to Big Room 2!!

In Him,

Jon!
