The Share Day mission team arrived in Charlotte, NC late on Wednesday afternoon, ready to help the Hyaets ministry prepare for its annual neighborhood event. We are a smaller team this year, with several veteran team members unable to return due to illness or prior commitments. We miss them but our 6-person team will still do what we usually do: clean and straighten up Hyaets community homes and sheds; publicize the Saturday Share Day, where we offer free food and yard sale items; and perform whatever other tasks that are on the "to-do" list for our Hyaets partners.
We took a quick tour of the still-under-construction Clubhouse this evening. It looks great! Not too much is left to be done, and we are excited to see the possibilities this new space offers to neighborhood ministry. Come on down, and help get it finished before summer's end!
Both Helms and Joanie are in the later stages of pregnancy, so be in prayer for them as they bring new additions to their respective families and to the Hyaets team. Also be in prayer for new staff members -- including our own Molly Carr, who will join Hyaets as a student summer missionary.
That's all for now. We will get down to hard labor on Thursday.
