55 Plus

Welcome

The aging process brings its share of challenges and rewards.  We recognize that God is continually at work in the lives of 55+ adults and has purpose and plans for us whether we are 9 or 99.  At Huguenot Road Baptist Church, we seek to help mature adults stay connected and provide outlets for discipleship, service, fellowship, and education.  Whether you are 55+ or someone interested in working with this population, we have a place for you!

The three primary ministries you will find on this page include:
Baby Boomers - an area of our site dedicated to those born between 1946 and 1964.
Older Adults - a site dedicated to the needs of aging adults and the related ministries.
Healing Hearts - a ministry group dedicated to supporting those who have experienced the ultimate loss of a spouse through death.

We hope you will take the time to explore these areas of our ministry and find the place that best fits you.  Don't hesitate to contact us for more information.

Important Documents

This area of our site provides links to important documents that every mature adult should have on file for their own peace of mind.  Please remember that these documents can only benefit you if your family and friends know where they are.  Keep them in a safe place, and don't forget to tell someone about them!  If you have requests for information you would like to see included, please contact Melissa Fallen

The Virginia Department of Health provides a registry to document your wishes if you are incapacitated or unable to manage your care.

Where to Find My Important Documents and Keys
At your death or at a time of incapacitation, family members will need to have access to carry out decisions on your behalf.  This task can be increasingly complicated if these items are not easily located.  This document will give your family and friends a guide to where to find these items.

Funeral Pre-planning
This document contains suggestions to help plan your funeral or memorial service.  We encourage you to discuss this document with your family and/or clergy.
